Kenny Tessel was born and raised in Cincinnati. He graduated from Walnut Hills High School and received a B.F.A. in Theater from Ohio University. After College, Kenny moved to Los Angeles where he had a career as an actor and a scriptwriter. With a love for cooking instilled in him by his mother and grandmother; he was inspired to make a career change, and became a personal chef. He was a personal chef for numerous celebrities, including Rosanne and the Dean Martin family.
Enjoying L.A., but missing home -- Kenny came back to Cincinnati to bring his A-list food to the area and created KT's BBQ & Deli. Within ten months of being opened, Cincinnati Magazine identified KT's BBQ & Deli as "Best of the City" for BBQ. Teaming up with BarBe Q (the mannequin), the two are now nationally recognized for bringing delicious food in a down-home environment.
